Hi everyone,

I'm back from a very successful Emerson Exchange! It was nice to see some cross-divisonal colleagues and reacquaint with some members of our sales team. We had a great turn-out at this year's event, surpassing last year's total (1,800) by over 400 registrants!

There were some great topics covered at this year's Exchange, including the Human Centered Design initiative, which not only focuses on more reliable and compatible products, but also focuses heavily on ease-of-use and increased productivity.

Micro Motion had a total of 7 topics presented, including EPA Greenhouse Gas compliance, marine bunkering, asphalt viscosity blending, two-phase flow metering, and a joint customer presentation with Eli Lilly. We also had a busy time during the Technology Showcase, introducing our products to numerous visitors and catching up with many old friends.

On a personal note, it was a hard Exchange knowing our president for the past 5 years, Tom Moser was moving on to lead our sister brand, Rosemount. Tom was the key sponsor for our community and his leadership will be missed. However, I am very excited to welcome back Neal Ingram who will become our new Chief Blogger. Neal is a big proponent of the power of social media and our efforts will not slow down through the transition.

Also, please check out Jim Cahill's Emerson Process Xperts blog. He's got some additional updates from the Exchange, including video streams from some of the presentations.

Thanks again to all who had a chance to visit us last week in San Antonio, TX!  The 2011 Emerson Exchange will be held in Nashville, TV on Oct 24-28. We look forward to seeing you there!

Best,
Mike

Jim Cahill, Chief Blogger at Emerson Process Management, makes a great post on his Emerson Process Experts blog about the value of an online community and the roles that each member must make in order to achieve growth. That growth in participation and the development of networks and friendships is what drives value to the community and allows each member to find answers and solutions to their engineering challenges.

To Jim's point, we do hope you take advantage of our online community to not only communicate with us at Micro Motion, but also with other colleagues in your field. This community is open to everyone, so please take the time to join, post a thread, make friends and most importantly, have fun!

Thanks!
Mike

Hi Everybody,

As Site Administrator, I had the opporunity to travel to Orlando and visit our users and other Emerson employees at the Emerson Exchange 2009.  I had a wonderful time meeting everybody and it was nice to finally sync faces to voices and names.

I received great feedback regarding the online community.  There are quite a few changes you all would like to see with the community and we are working diligently to make those happen.  By the end of October many of the suggestions you made (such as navigational elements and more profile edit transparency) will be completed.

Thanks again for the great feedback and thank you to those who participated and joined the family!  We look forward to having a successful launch.

Kind regards,
Mike Tongwarin
